An informational meeting titled “Hepatitis: How Can I Protect Myself and My Family?” was held in Berlin
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, an informational meeting titled “Hepatitis—How Can I Protect Myself and My Family?” was held in Berlin, organized by DACH e.V.
The meeting brought together more than 20 participants interested in accessible and practical information on prevention, vaccination, and early detection of viral hepatitis. The event took place in a safe and supportive atmosphere, which allowed for open discussion of health, prevention, and protection issues.
The first part of the event focused on the vaccination system in Germany. Participants learned about the vaccination schedule in Germany, which diseases vaccines are available for, where and how to get vaccinated in Germany, and which vaccines are covered by insurance.
In the second part of the event, the speakers focused on hepatitis B, C, and D. They discussed prevention and modes of transmission, testing and diagnosis, modern treatment, and access to medical care.
General practitioner Alexander Bubnov joined the meeting and explained where Ukrainians in Germany can get tested for hepatitis C for free. He also answered participants’ questions about next steps in case of a positive result, the opportunities offered by the Check-up 35+ program, and many other questions regarding HIV, hepatitis, and related topics.
Everyone who wished to do so had the opportunity to get tested for hepatitis C right during the event, which served as an important practical component of the meeting.
During the event, we introduced DataCheck Connect—our digital navigation service designed to support Ukrainians in Germany. The service helps people navigate the system of medical and social services, particularly those living with HIV, those with hepatitis, or members of key populations. Please note: if you need testing or treatment for hepatitis, you can find all the necessary information here.
We thank everyone who joined the meeting, as well as our partners DACH e.V. and the non-profit organization bdc for their cooperation and support. Events like this are an important step toward raising awareness and improving access to healthcare services.
