Peer-Led TB Support Workshop in Oslo On 19–20 May 2026, a two-day workshop on peer-led TB treatment support was held in Oslo (Norway)
The event brought together representatives of civil society organisations, groups of people who have survived TB, and national partners from 14 European countries.
The aim of the event was to strengthen the role of peer-to-peer support as a vital component of people-centred and rights-based TB care. This approach has proven effective in increasing treatment adherence, improving people’s well-being and access to services.
It was during this workshop that our colleague Kristina Rivera spoke about our organisation’s activities in Germany, specifically presenting our DataCheck.Connect project — an innovative tool that helps facilitate access to social and medical services, arrange an interpreter during a doctor’s appointment, and receive psychological support. So, over the course of two days, participants: shared experiences of implementing peer-to-peer support in various European countries discussed practical and systemic challenges explored tools for launching and scaling up support programmes worked on creating a shared vision for a cross-border digital support network for people affected by TB
🤝 A particular focus of the event was strengthening cooperation between national TB programmes, civil society organisations and communities of people with TB experience. The workshop was organised with the support of the LHL International Tuberculosis Foundation in partnership with the TB Europe Coalition (TBEC) and the Latvian Society against Tuberculosis, and funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services.
💛 Together, we are building support systems that really work for people!
