DataCheck Connect at AIDS 2026

The DataCheck Connect team presented the digital platform at AIDS 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, the largest international conference dedicated to the HIV response. We spoke about Ukraine’s experience in digital navigation, access to services for Ukrainians in Germany, migrant health, and the role of community-led solutions in responding to people’s needs today.

AIDS 2026 became a space not only for scientific news, but also for a conversation about a new reality: migration, funding cuts, integrated care, digital tools, sexual health, the role of communities, and the need for services that are truly closer to people.

In this context, we presented DataCheck Connect — a digital navigation platform for Ukrainians in Germany that helps people find medical, social, legal, psychological and other support services. The platform also contains useful specialized information for people with chronic conditions, including HIV, as well as for members of communities who need safe and clear access to support.

DataCheck Connect is a partnership project implemented by 100 PERCENT LIFE Germany in partnership with Deutsche Aidshilfe and the National HIV/AIDS Hotline, with support from the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Today, the platform offers:

1. navigation to medical, social, legal and psychological services;
2. information on sexual health, HIV, rights and access to support in Germany;
3. a free hotline;
4. the option to request assisted telephone interpretation during a doctor’s appointment;
5. a chatbot with answers to legal questions about HIV and life in Germany.

DataCheck Connect already includes 1,000+ service providers and 36+ service categories. Since the platform was launched in spring 2026, more than 4,000 people have used its features, and more than 130 people have requested interpreter support. Most often, users search for help with paperwork, information about HIV testing or medical services, consultations on residence status in Germany, and psychological support in Ukrainian.

Why this matters

One of the key takeaways from AIDS 2026 is that services work better when they are not isolated, but integrated into people’s real needs. A person may simultaneously need medical care, psychological support, legal consultation, interpretation, social support or simply a clear answer about where to turn.

This is exactly the logic that DataCheck Connect supports: not leaving a person alone with a complex system, but helping them find relevant support where they live.

At AIDS 2026, we presented not only a digital solution. The team also took part in sessions and discussions dedicated to migrant health, access to services, integrated care, digital tools and the role of communities. Among the global conclusions of the conference was the need for more flexible, decentralized and community-led models that can better reach people who are not always covered by traditional systems.

For us, DataCheck Connect is an example of how the Ukrainian experience of 100% LIFE can be adapted in Germany together with strong local partners.

It is a solution about access, navigation, trust and support — for people seeking help in a new country.
